The purpose of a boundary survey is to determine the exact scope and task required. This may range from retracement of a hundred year old patent granted by the state to surveying a recently recorded subdivision area.
Minimum task include abstracting and research of past and present property records, adjoined property research, and thorough inspection and search for historical property monuments. We develop abstracts of each property our firm surveys. Our surveying field crews, under the direction of the RPLS, conduct on-the-ground surveying of the property features. A surveying map is then prepared utilizing the data from the abstract and the on-the-ground survey.
We use state-of-the-art Leica Geosystems equipment, providing the means to perform surveying with the latest technology. Using Real Time Kinematic (RTK) surveying techniques, centimeter level (0.03 ft.) x,y,z accuracies are achieved up to 10 miles from the base. Points and attributes are collected and staked out in real time with post processing. RTK has also produced a dramatic production increase in setting in ground control for aerial photography and performing boundary surveys over large areas. GPS can be utilized anywhere in the world to perform surveys, establishing geodetic positions that may be translated to any geodetic datum or map projection. Fort Worth Surveying recently did a 12 mile TX DOT highway project in Montague County doing as-built and staking of striping along its corridor with excellent results.
Fort Worth Surveying offers abstracting service and provides clients with an accurate abstract of files and recorded data on real property transactions. Courthouse research and internet programs make this possible. This service also facilitates the execution and filing of new deed, plat and easement documents.
TOPOGRAPHIC AND TREE SERVICES
We provide topographic surveying, indicating the grade, slope and terrain features of the project for land platting, engineering and design purposes. We use several methods to prepare topographic surveys including:

Each method provides particular benefits and advantages for certain projects. Prior to commencing a topographic survey, accuracy requirements and property characteristics are considered to determine which surveying method would be best.
Our total station and GPS units are input devices for our CADD systems, enabling direct digital mapping of topographic surveys and computer analysis of contours, slopes and quantities.
Tree surveys are getting more and more popular. We survey and map trees labeling the diameter of the tree, diameter drip line or canopy and species.
TITLE AND AS-BUILT SURVEYS
Fort Worth Surveying as-built surveys begin with boundary survey of the project. Physical features such as buildings, easements, utilities and roads are then surveyed, described and mapped into the boundary survey to form a land title survey. Our company offers degrees and specifications of as-built surveying tailored to the client's needs and the requirements of the project. "ALTA" or American Land and Title Association, surveys are also performed at our company if required.
Form and Slab surveys can be accomplished as requested by the client. Some city municipalities required these surveys through the inspection department.
MAPPING AND LEGAL DESCRIPTIONS
Fort Worth Surveying provides plat mapping services in conjunction with the efforts of working with the planning and civil engineering companies. Plat maps are prepared on our CADD system. The method of preparation is determined by the size, type and requirements of the project. Maps include lots, blocks, rights-of-way and dedications.
We can assists clients during the platting process by attending various city staff meetings and maintaining a working relationship with the city staff members and government officials.

Construction layout is supervised by a RPLS. Field crews are responsible for layout, recording field activities, verifying daily logs for accuracy and assuring construction layout conforms to construction plans. Transfer of data to and from the surveying instruments from construction plans is essential for quality control and assurance.
Fort Worth Surveying provides control monumentation for many large-scale projects to control various phases of engineering, design and construction. Projects include multi-story and high rise buildings, residential and commercial developments, and heavy highway construction.
Our company provides the equipment, materials and expertise to establish a network of control monuments. Once the monuments have been established, field crews survey the position and elevation values of the monuments.
